Teaching

One of the main objectives of the various teaching activities provided by the Department of Materials Science is to train a scientist with a solid background in chemistry and physics, with the ability to tailor new systems to show desired properties and functions.

Many job opportunities are offered by the industries active in the area of Milan, which work on production and development of both "mature" (polymers, insulators, semiconductors, alloys, ceramics) and "innovative" (fiber optics, inonic conductors, superconductors, non-linear optics, electro and photo-cromic) materials.

The Department offers courses in Materials Science, both the first level (Bachelor's Degree) and  second level (Master's Degree) degrees, and two more applicative degrees in Optics and Optometry, and Chemistry.
Teaching activity is supported by didactical experiments in the Department laboratories and facilities.

More advances education is fulfilled by the Doctorate courses.
