The Department and its collaboration with the Nobel Laureate for Chemistry 2025

The 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry has been awarded to three scientists – Susumu Kitagawa, Richard Robson and Omar M. Yagu – for the construction of crystalline architectures with nanoscale porosity capable of capturing carbon dioxide, storing hydrogen and harvesting water from the air. Prof. Angiolina Comotti and her research group at the Department of Materials Science of the University of Milano-Bicocca conduct research on these porous materials with specific functions. For over 20 years, she has collaborated with Nobel laureate Susumu Kitagawa, with whom she has published several scientific papers.
