During the 5th International Conference on Interface Properties in Organic and Hybrid Electronics, held last week in Bologna, the oral presentation by Marco Terruzzi, a PhD student from the OMBE group of our Department, was awarded Best Oral Presentation.
The work presented, entitled Controlling Polymorphism in Organic Semiconductor Thin Films via Substrate Selection, was conducted as part of the research carried out by the OMBE group, in collaboration with other researchers from the Department and from foreign institutions. It shows how the physical properties of vacuum-deposited thin films of an organic molecule, particularly interesting for its solid-state luminescence, can be controlled through the choice of substrate, which permits tuning the molecule-substrate interaction to achieve organic epitaxy.
