Master Degree Courses
The Department offers a wide educational program, consisting in two Master degree courses (fully taught in english): Materials Science and Nanotechnology, Optics and Optometry and Vision Science.
The Department guarantees to all courses large and modern laboratory facilities, to ensure an updated and high-quality training.
The classes are delivered by professors and research associates of the Department, as well as by teachers from other departments, or non-academic experts.

The Master Degree Course in Materials Science and Nanotechnology, taught in English, is a revamped and profoundly revised course from the Master Degree Course in Materials Science (no longer provided from a.y. 2023-2024) that provides graduates a solid multidisciplinary background, across chemistry and physics, capable of designing molecular and atomic structures in the form of materials with specific functionalities. The degree program offers a multidisciplinary approach to address new research and technological innovation tasks, with a focus on sustainability. Graduates in Materials Science and Nanotechnology are professionals who can provide innovative solutions to the complex challenges facing the world today.
The Graduate Program in Materials Science and Nanotechnology offers a Dual Degree track focused on sustainable technology issues.

In the fields of optics, optometry and ophthalmology, we are witnessing a rapid evolution in the instruments, devices and technologies used.
The Master’s Degree in Optometry and Vision Science aims to provide innovative knowledge through educational activities on technologies and materials, optometry and the mechanisms of vision, data analysis and the scientific method.
A variety of teaching activities, both in-presence and online, are planned, including exercises, optometric case studies, projects, sharing of interactive teaching materials, oral presentations by students, student-faculty discussions, face-to-face workshops and work placements.
The course is taught in English. For interested students, there is also a part-time course option that lasts four years instead of two.
