A research team led by Prof. Angiolina Comotti and Prof. Angelo Monguzzi at the Department of Materials Science of the University of Milano - Bicocca, has published an important paper concerning an experimental strategy for producing a new solid-state material based on emitting porous aromatic framework nanoparticles (ePAFs) suitable for low‐power photon upconversion. The goal is the enhancement of the efficiency of sunlight‐powered devices by recovering sub‐bandgap solar photons.
The results of the research have been published on Advanced Materials in a paper entitled "Engineering Porous Emitting Framework Nanoparticles with Integrated Sensitizers for Low-Power Photon Upconversion by Triplet Fusion" (doi: 10.1002/adma.201903309).
