The Microscopy Platform of the University of Milano-Bicocca is an interdepartmental center that brings together various services of optical and electron microscopy under one structure. Established in 2017 by the Departments of Biotechnology and Biosciences, Physics, Environmental and Earth Sciences, and Materials Science, the Platform aims to meet the growing needs for the characterization of materials and biological tissues at the submicroscopic scale.

The Interdepartmental Network of Spectroscopy brings together numerous researchers and a wide array of instruments from three different departments within the Science Area: Material Science, Environmental and Earth Sciences, and Biotechnology and Biosciences.

The Interdepartmental Network of Spectroscopy coordinates the management of all available equipment for both internal and external users. The expertise developed over the years allows for measurements on any type of material (powders, solids, liquids, biological materials...) even under controlled temperature and atmosphere conditions, and the design of new experimental procedures for in situ and operando characterizations.
