FLEXILAB is a new research infrastructure consisting of a network of enabling, flexible technology laboratories with equipment specifically designed to enable the Department's various energy research lines to align on TRL≥4. 

FLEXILAB consists of existing laboratories and others built on purpose with funding from "Dipartimenti di Eccellenza" project for the needs of the project, equipped with characterization and fabrication instrumentation that enabled the quantum leap needed to make the Department a center of expertise in materials research for the sustainable energy cycle. The investment was about 2 million euros in high-cost equipment. The purchased equipment makes it possible to cover the entire process chain: from the realization of materials through synthesis or thin-film growth, to the chemical and physical characterization of materials, and finally to the realization of a test device.
