Titolo: The Importance of Luminescence Dosimetry in Large Research Centers
Abstract: The use of ionizing radiation in research facilities is critical, but also poses potential risks to both researchers and equipments. Luminescence dosimetry provides an accurate method for measuring and monitoring radiation exposure, ensuring the safety of all involved and the reliability of experimental results. In this colloquium we will explore the benefits and importance of implementing luminescence dosimetry at the Paul Scherrer Institute (Switzerland). In addition to presenting luminescence techniques and the latest advances, we will also discuss current dosimetry problems to be overcome, such as dosimetry in FLASH therapy, 2D dosimetry, and high dose measurements in biological samples.
